Work restarts at Growler

The rig crew has been remobilised and drilling personnel are on location following repairs to access roads damaged by the heavy rains.

Before the delay, Growler-2 was drilled to 108 metres. The scheduled operations are to open the existing hole to 17.5-inch run and cement 13¨ü-inch surface casing, and connect flow lines.

Following this, the well will be drilled to about 650m and intermediate casing will be set.

Primary targets are at 1650m and it is anticipated that this will take approximately 10 to 12 days to drill.

Growler-2 is an appraisal well on the Growler Oil Field. Growler-1 discovered an 18m oil column in the Jurassic Birkhead Formation. The P50 oil-in-place is estimated to be 5.7 million barrels and most likely recoverable oil is estimated to be 1.4MMbbl.

The participants in Growler-2 and PEL 104 are operator Victoria Petroleum with a 40% stake, Impress Energy (40%) and Roma Petroleum (20%).
