The appraisal well, about 1.8km west of Jeruk-1 and 40km southeast of Surabaya, had initially been flow tested over the open hole interval 4939-4978m in May, but testing was not completed due to a loss of control line pressure.
The well was re-tested over the same interval, after repairs, with the main flow test being conducted over a 48-hour period.
Santos said the well flowed oil with a gas-to-oil ratio of about 320 scf per bbl through a 16/64-inch choke, at a well head pressure of about 4500psi.
Flow rates were constrained by surface facility limitations and the forward plan was to drill ahead to locate the oil/water contact and to continue the evaluation of the reservoir interval, the company said.
