In Yemen, the company says its Nabrajah-10 well produced 3200 barrels of fluid per day – comprising 1120 barrels of oil and 2080 barrels of completions fluid – on production test in the Kholan dolomite over the interval 2626-2720m.
But before the well had been fully cleaned up, the electrical submersible pump (ESP) failed and so the test was aborted. The company expects testing will restart soon with a replacement pump.
Nabrajah-10 is 1km northeast of the Nabrajah-5 production well. It was designed to further appraise the Kholan dolomite and Basement potential in the Nabrajah-5 fault terrace.
Participants in Nabrajah-10 are DNO ASA, which holds a 56.67% stake, Oil Search (Yemen) which has a 28.33% stake and The Yemen Company (15%).
Meanwhile in PNG, the company says its successful SE Mananda-3 development well, which reached a total depth of 2855m two weeks ago, has added between 15 and 20 million bbl of in-place oil to the main field.
After intercepting 11m of net oil pay in the Digimu Sandstone, the well was deepened to appraise the southern margin of the SE Mananda Field.
Oil Search said this operation has successfully extended the southern boundary, with initial studies indicating between 15 and 20 million barrels of in-place oil have been added to the field’s reserves. Further appraisal drilling is now required to constrain the structural geometry and reserves potential in this area, the company said.
The extended section of the SEM-3 well has now been plugged back, and the Digimu interval completed as an oil producer. As a result, the well is expected to be on-stream in about two weeks, according to Oil Search.
Participants in SE Mananda are Oil Search (72.27%), AGL Gas Developments (11.9%), Merlin Petroleum (7.93%) and Petroleum Resources Kutubu (7.9%).
