Beach confirms Sellicks-2 as new pool oil discovery

A preliminary rate of 2250-2700 barrels of oil/day was achieved, with a water-cut estimated at about 25%.

An initial drill stem test attempted over the same interval on Monday was a misrun.

“This is a new pool oil discovery within the Sellicks Field, which has, to date, produced

oil only from the deeper Patchawarra Formation,” Beach chief operating officer Hector Gordon said this morning.

The Sellicks field is in PPL 204 in the Cooper Basin, South Australia. Sellicks-2 is the first of two appraisal wells based upon 3D seismic that was designed to optimise field development.

The well will now drill ahead to evaluate the Patchawarra Formation primary target,

which is expected to be reached tomorrow.

The PPL 204 joint venture comprises operator Beach (75%) and Cooper Energy (25%).
