But the dispute over changes made to four other Woodside-operated production-sharing contracts remains unresolved.
The dispute does not affect Chinguetti, but the revenue shares from the Tiof, Tevet and Banda discoveries are being disputed.
The new government last week told local media that it has been waiting since the early February for Woodside to respond to its concerns. If the two parties cannot reach agreement in three months' time, it will be put before the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris.
The development cost US$720 million – 20% more than original estimate – and comprises six production wells, five wells for water re-injection and one for gas re-injection. The field, which has estimated reserves of about 120 million barrels, was discovered in 2001.
Berge Helene is a 275,000-tonne vessel moored in about 800 metres of water. The vessel has a storage capacity of 1.6 million barrels.
Chinguetti is in the Chinguetti Exploitation Perimeter in Production Sharing Contract Area B.
Participating interests in the Chinguetti Joint Venture are: Woodside group (operator) 47.38448%; Hardman group 19.008%; Société Mauritanienne des Hydrocarbures [formerly GPC] 12%; BG group companies 10.2344%; Premier group companies 8.12328%; and Roc Oil 3.24984%.
