Rough Range production test spreads Empire to the refinery

Empire said yesterday the Department of Industry and Resources’ had authorised the extended test at the end of last week.

The company will now commission the field’s production facility and start production.

This will allow trucks to take the oil from the field in the Exmouth sub-basin to the BP Kwinana refinery near Perth, about 2,500 kilometres south.

Empire is also conducting a geochemical survey over the Dune, Pindan and Parrot Hill east oil prospects that neighbour Rough Range on the Bullara Trend.
