OPEC cuts two million BPD to maintain prices

OPEC members have agreed to cut production levels by two million barrels per day following an eme...

The reduction was put forward to make sure prices would not fall below $US22 per barrel and was support by all the members.

Ironically a decision was also made to increase the production limit to 25.4 million barrels per day, up from the current limit of 24.5 million barrels.

The group decided that Iraq's future quota is to be reviewed once the country resumes production.
