A joint initiative between the Northern Territory Government and the Institute for International Research, the 12th SEAAOC event will feature key trends and developments in the petroleum industry with an Asia Pacific focus.

As platinum sponsor, ConocoPhillips will discuss its plans for further developing the NT with plans for Darwin LNG Train 2 and commercialising the recent Caldita discovery in the Timor Sea.

Coogee Resources will discuss using stranded gas for methanol production in the Montara/Skua development, INPEX will report on the Abadi gas discovery and Nexus Energy will outline the Crux field gas condensate recycling project.

INPEX will also overview Browse Basin developments and companies such as Chevron, AGL and Santos will discuss regional developments such the PNG pipeline project and LNG projects.

Regionally, OilSearch will outline its exploration, production and downstream activities in PNG and the Itochu/Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Joint Venture will discuss the proposed fuel grade DME plant near Port Moresby.

LNG features on Day Two, when the conference will hear from key government and LNG buyer representatives from the US, China, Taiwan, India, Thailand, India, the UK, Korea and Japan.

Joe Desmond, Chairman of the Californian Energy Commission and Lee Stewart, Senior VP-Gas Operations for key Californian utility, Sempra will discuss the challenges of importing LNG to the US, regulation and the effects of high gas prices on demand.
