THE showdown between Oil Basin and the unlisted Backreef Oil to finally settle the vexed question of who owns the potentially lucrative Derby Block in the Canning Basin has moved into a new phase with Oil Basins being delivered a defeat in the State Administrative Tribunal yesterday.

Oil Basins marched off to SAT after Backreef, which wanted to sell its interest in the block to Buru Energy for $3.5 million, failed to meet cash calls for early work undertaken in the block last year....
