Statoil dealing with well fire aftermath

The fire was limited to surface equipment. None of the wells were on fire at any stage.

A Statoil well inspection team has reported that all the wells are secure and shut in.

All personnel working on the site were evacuated and remain safe.

Residents living nearby were also evacuated temporarily as a precaution.

There have been no reports of serious injuries associated with this incident to date.

According to a report in The Columbus Dispatch, the site has eight wells and one formerly producing well has been plugged while the rest are being fracced.
