The SL 103230-4 well will be directionally drilled into a fault block adjacent to the recently completed SL 103230-1 to test up to six sand reservoirs including developing remaining reserves in the 6700ft B, C and E sands that are the well's main objectives.
Buccaneer said the drilling plan has allocated 25 days to drilling and an additional 22 days to completing the well for production.
The company added the contract with Hercules includes an option to use its rig to drill a fourth well that must be executed within five days of completing SL 103230-4.
The Pompano project, about 145km southwest of Houston, is essentially a re-development of the Pompano gas field with new well locations based on modern 3D seismic data.
The first two wells in the field are producing about 16 million cubic feet of gas and 60 barrels of condensate per day.
