Entek in GoM gas find

Entek, which has a 5% stake in the find, yesterday said the well was drilled in 37m of water on the S/2 SW/4 of the block. It reached a depth of 14,988 feet and penetrated over 300ft of net pay in Lower Miocene Lentic Jeff sands.

The company said the well has now been successfully completed and a flow test was conducted on November 4 to 5.

Final flow rate prior to shut-in of the well was 47.5 million cubic feet of gas per day on a 45/64 wellhead choke, with six barrels of 45.9 API gravity condensate per million cubic feet of gas (312 barrels of condensate a day).

To fast-track production, US-based operator Walter Oil & Gas is investigating the costs and design for a production facility.

Entek and its Gulf of Mexico partners recently won three offshore blocks in the State of Texas lease sale, which are contiguous to the discovery tract. The company paid just over $US374,000 ($A494,000) to acquire a 5% in the blocks, which cover 2880 acres (1165.5 hectares) around the discovery well.
