ODE to Ensign

OIL Drilling & Exploration (ODE) has changed its name to Ensign International Energy Services, becoming the international division of Ensign Energy Services Inc, Canada’s largest international drilling contractor.

ODE to Ensign

Ensign International provides services including drilling for oil, gas, geothermal energy and coalbed methane, the workover and servicing of existing wells and the supply of oilfield equipment and services. Ensign is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange with more than 300 drilling and workover rigs

The ODE name has been part of the Australian oil scene for more than 50 years in Australia and has been active internationally for more than 30 years.

"A name change is a significant step for many valued employees, both past and present, and for the company’s loyal and valued clients,". said Ensign International vice president and chief operating officer Garry White.

"Nevertheless the change is important to send a clear message that its history of service is now an integral part of a larger organisation thus providing added financial and technical strength. The Ensign group is focused on building its reputation through ongoing commitment to providing save and efficient oilfield services – internationally."

ODE will be known as Ensign International Energy Services with operations in each country registering a local Ensign name. All office contact phone/facsimile numbers will remain unchanged.
