Ametek acquisitions provide oily offerings

US MANUFACTURER Ametek has announced it will acquire privately owned firm Quizix, a precision pum...

The Quizix precision pump system is said to provide continuous pulse-free flow at the high pressures and temperatures needed to simulate reservoir conditions, allowing for more efficient oil and gas extraction.

"Quizix's technology adds to Ametek's growing range of oil and gas instrumentation products," said Ametek chief executive officer Frank Hermance.

"Together with our Chandler Engineering business unit and the soon to be completed acquisition of Solartron ISA, Ametek is increasing its exposure to this important market area."

Through the Solartron ISA purchase, Ametek will also acquire Solartron ISA's patented Dualstream Wet Gas meters, able to differentiate between liquid and gas flows in an online, real-time process for flow metering at the well-head or transmission pipeline.

"Ametek will continue to make technology-focused acquisitions such as this to further expand our technology base and create additional avenues for internal growth," said Hermance.
