At East Texas, a project 30% owned by Carpenter and operated by Pegasi, three wells were recompleted – Davis-2, Childers-1 and Huntington-2H.
Davis-2 was perforated and fracture-stimulated and is cleaning up following the frac. Once a stabilised flow is established the reservoir will be produced together with the original producing reservoir. Carpenter is leasing another 810 hectares adjacent to the well bore.
Childers-2 boasts a Travis Peak reservoir and when a stabilised flow rate is achieved from the well, Carpenter expects to perforate and frac another Travis Peak reservoir. Those two reservoirs will be added to the existing producing reservoir and produced together.
Carpenter is also planning to drill a horizontal well offsetting Childers-2.
Huntington-2H, a well drilled earlier this year, has been placed on production and a stabilised flow rate is expected to be established over the next two to four weeks. In Utah a completion rig was moved into the Clear Creek Project, which Carpenter holds a 70% stake in and operates, working on Utah Fuel-2.
When that work is completed the rig will move to Utah Fuel-10 before shifting to the Helper Project, 60% owned by Carpenter, to complete two wells there that the company drilled earlier this year.
Both the Clear Creek and Helper projects, which Carpenter also operates, have easy access to pipelines.
Utah Fuel-2 was shut-in in 1964 while making more than one million cubic feet of gas a day. The company reports encouraging early results from the well.
After Utah Fuel-2, Carpenter plans to perforate and test Utah Fuel-10. It also plans to complete another five wells in the field using the same completion rig.
