Managing director Richard Ranshaw said the concept was developed in Mascot NSW before crossing the Nullabor to its Osborne Park premises.
According to the company, it uses a very safe electrolysis process (pressure Hazard Level E and safety category AS4024.1), to continuously produce commercial volumes of environmentally friendly gas by the gas generator, operating at very low pressures and housing very small volume of gases in the system at any time.
When powered by a renewable energy, such as solar, wind turbines, geo-thermal or other, 100% environmentally friendly fuel gas will be generated.
Hydrogen Technology aims to manufacture fuel gas for welding and metal fabrication. It intends to displace bottled gas sales by having fuel gas manufactured on the factory or platform floor.
In a remote location with adequate power, around 13 KW, the unit could eliminate the need to freight large numbers of bulky gas cylinders to site, Ranshaw said.
The company said it hoped to have an information memorandum ready by the third quarter. It had raised around $4 million over its 10 year life and was planning to raise a similar amount in a private capital raising later this year, pending shareholder approval.
Ranshaw said a $4 million raising would fund the manufacture and marketing of around 150 machines. Global pipeline group, JP Kenny had conducted an intensive market research exercise and Sinclair Knight Merz had consulted on the design of the gas generating unit.
