Western Power cleared over Kukerin fire, Katanning outbreak under investigation

The Kukerin fire burnt through 1500ha, including extensive areas of crops, destroyed two houses and left a woman needing hospital treatment for burns.

But the Fire & Emergency Services Authority has determined that it started in an area where there were no power lines.

Claims that the Katanning fire was sparked by a faulty power pole still had to substantiated, Western Power has said.
