The Norwegian “Ormen Lange” gas project’s main trunk line extends from Nyhamna, Norway, to Easington, Britain and is 1200km long with a diameter of 42-44 inches. The pipeline will transport about 20% of Norway’s gas exports, and about 20% of Britain’s gas imports. The gas is extracted at a depth of 800-1100m and production is planned to start in 2007.
“This is a large and exciting project, which we are very happy to be able to participate in,” said Peter Suter, Trelleborg Building Systems president. “This is concrete evidence that we are perceived as a stable partner, able to deliver products of a high and uniform quality for this type of demanding project.”
The deliveries from Trelleborg will begin mid-2004 and are expected to continue until the beginning of 2006.
The total value of the deliveries is in the range of SEK40-60 million.
Trelleborg Building Systems develops and markets polymer and bitumen-based building products for sealing and waterproofing applications in industrial and consumer markets. It has annual sales of SEK2.3 billion.
