WPN Resources LTD (TSX-V: WPR) said "it is please (sic) to advise it intends to seek a secondary listing on the Australian Stock Exchange in 1st quarter 2004."
Glenn Whiddon, WPN president, was involved in last October's attempt by former Carpathian Resources chairman, Des Luplau, to oust that company's board and vend the WPN assets into the ASX-listed, European focused Carpathian.
Whiddon's machinations behind the scenes culminated in an extraordinary meeting in early October when put on the spot by lawyer and acting chairman Martin Bennett, he was unable to back up claims he had made to discredit the incumbent Carpathian management.
WPN also said it had appointed former Regal Petroleum director, Greg Lee, as general manager of operations. Lee was unsuccessfully nominated by Luplau, now at Montagu Stockbrokers, as a director in the failed spill. Also unsuccessfully nominated by Luplau at the time was Paul Boyatsis, a broker with Kirke Securities.
An announcement by WPN in November said Kirke and Montagu had been retained to assist in the listing process, in which it aimed to raise up to C$750,000.
