The slight increase has been accredited to CHC’s US$95.8 million acquisition of the Schreiner Aviation Group, which allowed it access to more markets in Europe, Africa and Asia.
In a statement CHC said, “[CHC] earned C$25.4 million (US$18.6 million) or C$1.22 (US$0.91) per share for the three months ended April 30, compared with a profit of C$22.7 million (US$16.85 million) or C$1.09 (US$0.81) per share. Revenue for the quarter increased to C$218.4 million (US$162.2 million), up from C$174.6 million (US$130 million) a year ago.
However, despite the increased Q4 and year-on-year earnings, CHC shareholders’ dividends fell slightly. For the year ended 30 April, CHC earned C$63.7 million (US$47.3 million) or C$3.08 (US$2.29) per share on revenue of C$733.7 million (US$545 million). In 2002, CHC’s profit was C$65.5 million (US$48.7 million) or C$3.16 (US$2.35) per share on revenue of C$718.3 million (US$533.6 million).
