According to BP spokesperson Kathleen Lucas said, “The EPCM contract will see Aver Kvaerner responsible for overall project management, detailed engineering, and the procurement of all equipment and bulk materials. Aver Kvaerner will also be responsible for the tender award and subsequent management of construction sub-contracts.”
“Our decision to use Aver Kvaerner Australia for the subsequent implementation phase of the project was underpinned by the success of the preceding work and their appointment was further justified on their proven ability to provide a total project solution,” added Lucas.
The Clean Diesel project is being done in compliance with new Australian government regulations which will come into effect on 1 January 2006. BP intends to invest around A$60 million on the project.
