The six monthly tabling of energy-related consultancy contracts to the WA government has revealed payments of at least $2.6 million, with one of the reports being held back from public consumption by Energy Minister, Eric Ripper.

State Parliament was told that Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu received $698,000; Frontier Economics received $502,000; Charles River Associates received $498,000; PA Consulting received $346,000; Navigant Consulting received $399,000 and GT Power Consultants ERTF Consultancy received $164,000.

The Frontier Economics report which is believed to contain details of the costs of splitting Western Power into four divisions, a central plank of the Gallop government's deregulation strategy.

The opposition party has speculated that Ripper is hiding damning evidence about the cost of the split. Ripper has claimed in his defence that the report is commercially sensitive.
