WA permier Mark McGowan spoke at a recent Petroleum Club of WA event.

The Petroleum Club  partnered with the APPEA to bring members an online webinar series.

The latest session will see two industry specialists discuss the oil and gas industry focus on "incorporating a technology-driven strategy" to lower emissions and address the climate change challenge.

APPEA deputy chief executive Damian Dwyer will present on economic and trade issues, the role of gas in lowering emissions, and energy policy and international trade issues.

Future Energy Exports chief executive Eric May - who is also the chair of Chevron's gas process engineering group at the University of WA - will also present on his research.

The session will be conducted as a zoom meeting on Tuesday August 11 from 12.30 western standard time.

Tickets are available here.

The Petroleum Club will also hold its first industry dinner event since the outbreak of COVID-19.

The in-person event will feature Inpex vice president of health, safety and environment, Neville Carrington.

As a key member of Inpex's crisis management team, Carrington has been instrumental as the company navigated its way through COVID-19 pandemic including border closures, travel restrictions, the relocation of personnel to Western Australia and in the development of a comprehensive internal quarantine program.

In his presentation, Carrington will share his insights about Inpex's measured approach - including working closely with government, its contractors, industry peers and the communities where Ichthys LNG operates.

Tickets to the dinner are available here.
