The Maersk Master, fresh from working on the North Sea on a decommissioning job, and the Maersk Mariner, which came to Australia last August to work for another customer, were both built last year.
Quadrant's campaign will initially cover three wells over 150-200 days, including two infill wells on Van Gogh.
The vessels, which Maersk says are "highly modern and efficient", will support Transocean's semi-submersible rig Development Driller-1 with supply and anchor handling duties throughout the campaign.
Maersk Supply Service's Perth-based head of commercial Asia Pacific David Lofthouse said his company was "excited" about having its two new-built Starfish vessels operating together on the program, particularly given Quadrant was such an important customer.
"This is a unique opportunity to demonstrate their state-of-the-art capabilities such as minimised environmental footprint, high standard for safety and on board comfort for customers," Lofthouse, who joined MSS last March after nearly nine years with MMA Offshore, said.
Last October Quadrant also awarded Perth-based Neptune Marine Services the rig position contract that includes drilling Phoenix South-3, whose primary objective is to evaluate the Caley interval that the Phoenix South-2 well drilled into but was unable to drill through and evaluate.
