Under the deal, the company will transport, install and commission the pipelines for the Ca Ngu Vang (CNV) Field, located in Block 9-2, about 130km southeast of Vung Tau, southern Vietnam.
Clough’s chief executive John Smith said this project was his company’s first venture into the “buoyant” Vietnam petroleum market.
“It is the result of much hard work and dedication and we hope the first of many contracts in this area,” he said
Clough will use the Java Constructor pipelay barge to perform all pipelay works, retrofit riser and subsea tie-in operations, as well as all associated flooding, pigging and testing. This work will be carried out at a depth of 60m.
Once all preparatory works are completed, the offshore phase of the project is due to begin at the start of April and take 60 days to finish.
The Ca Ngu Vang Field is operated by Hoan Vu Joint Operating Company (HVJOC), a joint venture between Petrovietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP) (50%), SOCO (25%) and PTTEP Thailand (25%).
Elsewhere Asia, Clough said it was continuing to secure oil and gas related module fabrication work at its Sattahip fabrication yard in Thailand.
