Shell has confirmed that an agreement had been reached in India following meetings with Gujarat State Petroleum corp and Gujarat chief minister Narenda Modi.

Previously, Shell had indicated that its 25% share of Gorgon gas was earmarked for delivery to its Baja California, Mexico LNG terminal, currently under construction. Shell had indicated that negotiations with a potential Indian customer had stalled over disagreements on price.

Another Gorgon partner, ExxonMobil, has also been canvassing potential buyers in India, but has so far announced no sales agreements with any cutomers in India or elsewhere.
