Conoco Philips gets green light for Bayu-Undan pipeline

Vatskalis said was satisfied the company had the necessary checks and balances in place to ensure the safe operation of the pipeline.

The $3 billion Conoco Phillips-operated Bayu-Undan liquefied natural gas (LNG) project will feed gas from Bayu-Undan to a new LNG processing plant in Darwin via a single 500-kilometer pipeline.

The approval lets Conoco begin testing the pipeline in the first step to moving gas onshore from the Timor Sea.
