The Ras Laffan LNG complex is one of the world’s largest LNG liquefaction facilities. Invensys has been closely involved with the project, providing process and safety automation services throughout the complex, in addition to associated project engineering services.

Under the Train 5 expansion contract, Invensys will be responsible for implementing process control, supplying its Foxboro brand of I/A Series control sytems. Invensys will also supply its Triconex brand of triple-modular redundancy safety instrumented systems and fire and gas protection safety systems.

Train 5 will have a production capacity of 4.7 million tonnes per annum, bringing the total capacity for the Ras Laffan LNG complex up to 20Mtpa when it goes on-line in 2007.
