Tangguh peak construction slated by year’s end

A Tangguh LNG senior vice president, Lukman Ahmad Mahfoedz, has revealed construction work on the BP Plc-led Tangguh LNG project in Irian Jaya should begin by the end of the year.

In a statement Lukman said, “We have passed a very important milestone. Following the relocation of villagers from the future site of the project, BP expects to commence peak construction of the Tangguh LNG project by the end of this year.”

It is understood the construction Lukman speaks of includes the construction of two LNG processing plants, capable of handling a total of 7 million tonnes of LNG per annum.
