Since the first LNG Conference was staged in Chicago in 1968, the event has grown to become the world's premier showcase of LNG resources, markets and associated technology.
The Minister said Western Australia had world-class natural gas reserves and Western Australia's LNG operators would play an important role at the conference.
"Since LNG13 was held in Seoul in 2001, the size of WA's commercial gas reserves have effectively doubled, with in-principle approval being approved for the Gorgon Gas Development to be located on Barrow Island and guiding enabling legislation through the Western Australian Parliament.
"With even greater resources and a growing reputation as a secure supplier, WA has never been better placed to take advantage of the significant marketing opportunities LNG14 will offer."
The Minister said he had accepted an invitation to open the Gorgon Joint Venture's stand at the LNG14 exhibition.
"The Government has worked hard to secure the $11billion Gorgon Gas Development for WA and we will continue to promote the Gorgon reserves, both internationally and on the East Coast of Australia, so that both the initial Gorgon development and future expansions can be commercially underpinned," he said.
