Dixon was the chief architect of Australia's $25 billion LNG deal with China, through the Australia LNG initiative. Prior to leading Australia LNG, Dixon was director of Shell International Gas with responsibility for the performance and expansion of Shell's gas business in the Asia Pacific region.
He has also been instrumental in developing LNG markets for Australian gas in Japan, China and Korea.
The multi-billion dollar Gorgon project off the Western Australian coast is currently awaiting environmental approvals and in-principle access to the restricted use of Barrow Island, a class 'A' Nature Reserve and commercial oilfield. The venture has no foundation contracts.
