Wonnich Deep to be production tested: Tap

THE Harriet Joint Venture’s Wonnich Deep-1 exploration well in Carnarvon Basin, offshore Western Australia, has encountered what appears to be two gas zones, junior partner Tap Oil says.

Wonnich Deep to be production tested: Tap

The Perth-based company yesterday said the well, in production licence TL/8, encountered an apparent thinly bedded, gas-bearing, Upper Jurassic Dupuy sandstone interval as well as an unswept gas zone in the shallower Flag sandstone level.

It is now being sidetracked and completed to both production test the deeper zone as well as produce gas from the shallower Flag sandstone horizon at a later date.

Wonnich Deep-1H is being drilled from the Wonnich platform, which is tied-in to the production facilities at Varanus Island.

The rig is expected to be released from the Wonnich platform around April 22.

Harriet JV participants are Tap (12.22%), operator Apache Northwest (68.5%) and Kufpec Australia (19.28%).
