The well, which reached a total target depth of 9181 feet on the weekend, is now being cased for production.
Anderson-1 was drilled on the southern flank of a feature that has been proven as productive in the previously drilled and tested Gerdes-1 and Butschek-1 wells.
Amadeus says Anderson-1 has shown that at least four of the zones – the Upper Wilcox at 6000 feet, and the Lower Wilcox at 8150 feet, 8500 feet and 9000 feet – all extend between the three wells drilled to date, confirming a drainage area of at least 300 acres. All of this acreage is on Amadeus-operated leases.
Volumetric data suggest that the recoverable reserves in the 8500-feet zone alone should exceed 4-6 billion cubic feet of gas and 500,000 barrels of oil, the company said. This would be tapped from up to four wells.
Target production rates range from 0.75-1.5 million cubic feet of gas and 50-75 bbls of oil per well, per day.
This is the 10th successful well drilled on the Halletsville project area, out of 13 drilled to date – a success rate of 77% for Amadeus.
The next well in the Halletsville program, Peterson-1, which is 3000 feet north of Anderson-1, is expected to spud this week.
Amadeus holds a 29.7% interest in Anderson-1 and the Halletsville South project, up from 25%, as a joint venture partner did not take up their interest. Texas-based Trio Consulting & Management is the project operator.
