Petsec installs production platform at new GoM gas field

THE production platform has now been installed and the sales pipeline has been laid at Petsec Energy’s new Main Pass 19 gas field in the Gulf of Mexico, USA.

“Hook-up and commissioning is underway and gas production is expected to commence within three weeks from the three wells drilled by Petsec between April and June 2005,” the company said this morning.

“These three wells discovered an estimated 13 billion cubic feed of gas equivalent net to the company.”

A four-well drilling program to be conducted from the Main Pass 19 platform will start early next week, Petsec said.

Petsec’s focus of operations is on gas in the shallow waters of the Gulf of Mexico and onshore Louisiana Gulf Coast region of the US, and on oil in the shallow waters of the Beibu Gulf off the south coast of China.
