Bright year for Sunshine

SUNSHINE Gas Limited has almost doubled its gas sales from the Roma Shelf project it shares with Santos for the year to June 30 compared with the previous fiscal year.

The Queensland-based company also boosted its liquid hydrocarbon production by about 2.6 times.

Gas production for 2004-05 was 455,621 gigajoules, up from the 284,057 in 2003-04.

According to the company, Roma Shelf has 1.6 petajoules in proved reserves, 5.8 petajoules in proved and probable reserves and 21.8 petajoules in proved, probable and possible reserves.

The company’s proved and proved and probable reserves have fallen from 2004 levels of 2.3 petajoules and 6.7 petajoules respectively due to production.

Its exploration projects are split into the southern Bowen Basin and Surat Basin (which includes the producing Roma Shelf project), the northern Bowen Basin and the Cooper Basin.
