Completion operations continue at the well to evaluate and test several zones of interest between 9,000ft and 14,000ft.
Dune Energy has also advised that completion operations have started in Vaquero-2 at a depth above 12,440ft.
Vaquero-2 well is the second in FAR’s Welder Ranch program using Nabors Drilling Land Rig 520. It was drilled as an offset to the recently completed Esenjay Bell-4 (in which FAR has no interest), about 1,200ft north.
Until the results of production testing are known, it is not possible to determine the potential of either the Vaquero-1 or 2.
The company has also agreed to completing the lower C Sand in the SL 328-2 ST well at the Lake Long Field, Lafourche Parish, South Louisiana.
This move will increase production above the current 21 bopd from the H Sand.
The lower C Sand is well developed in the second ST well, and is expected to be at virgin pressure because it has not produced.
Meanwhile, the C Sand completion is expected to recover costs within 18 days based on anticipated flow rates up to 1.5 million cfpd.
FAR holds a 9% working interest in Vaquero-1 and 2 and 12.625% in the SL 328-2 ST well, Lake Long Field.
