This integration would also help international oil and gas businesses to share information within and between their operating companies, LogicaCMG said.
Prodis has been implemented more than 25 times in the upstream oil and gas sector and covers the areas of operations, production reporting, hydrocarbon accounting and commercial management. Prodis Upstream accounts for one third of UK offshore pipeline gas and a quarter of gas processed by UK terminals.
The software system tracks, manages and accounts for the production of hydrocarbons from the reservoir, through production facilities, pipelines and terminals to the delivery point. It also manages nominations, provides production management reports and statutory returns and administers commercial transportation, allocation and gas sales agreements.
Prodis Upstream also acts as a comprehensive data repository that can store all metering and operational data generated throughout the lifetime of a facility. This is provided with the reassurance of secure and auditable data management, according to LogicaCMG.
The company claimed the SAP initiative would offer customers a flexible business approach, enabling real-time processing, and help organisations to integrate people, information and business processes across the enterprise.
The SAP NetWeaver platform enables business change and helps to reduce the cost of integrating IT applications and platforms, LogicaCMG said.
Under the agreement with SAP critical production, operational and commercial data from Prodis will be integrated with data from mySAP ERP solutions, third party applications and legacy systems, through the SAP Enterprise Portal.
As a result, managers would be better informed to make key decisions and to manage the flow of data.
LogicaCMG and SAP will jointly market the Prodis Powered by SAP NetWeaver solution, offering a combination of LogicaCMG’s strengths in commercial natural gas management with SAP for oil and gas, which provides, among others, an extensive portfolio of upstream applications, said LogicaCMG Australia managing director, energy and utilities Greg Forbes.
“Integrating Prodis with SAP NetWeaver will help clients integrate upstream operations onto the corporate desktop, which will lower the cost of ownership,” Forbes said.
