Singpower claims TXU exec in buyout

Former TXU executive Len Gill has been appointed as the new head of Singapore Power's expanding energy business after the US supplier sold its Australian assets to the utility for $5.1 billion in April this year.

Singapore Power has now acculated an extensive collection of Australian assets including the TXU-brand retail operations in Victoria and South

Australia, its energy trading activities, the Torrens Island Power Station in South Australia and the gas storage facility at Port Campbell in

Victoria.

Gill was general manager for TXU's wholesale energy operations.

As well as Gill's appointment, Nino Ficca has become chief executive of the Energy Delivery Business, which includes TXU's Victorian gas and electricity

distribution network.

TXU supplies gas and electricity to over one million customers in Victoria and South Australia.
