BP-led consortium targets Siberian fields

According to TNK-BP spokesperson Vladimir Bobylev, "[TNK-BP] have agreed with authorities in Irkutsk [to] supply regional consumers, such as utilities and petrochemical firms, with 300 million cubic metres of gas from 2006, rising to 2.2 billion cubic metre from 2009."

"Our total investment will amount to US$650 million in 2004-2009," added Bobylev.

The Kovytka field has reserves of more than 2 trillion cubic metres.
