Epic Energy wants energy review fast-tracked

Epic Energy wants the stalled national review of Australia's energy market fast-tracked in order ...

The Council of Australian Governments agreed to a review eight months ago however it has been delayed due to continuing disagreements amongst the states over who will make up the panel.

The review, which will be chaired by well-know coal man, Mr Warwick Parer, is expected to release an issues paper canvassing options for a national energy policy framework with the final report due to be released before the end of the year.

Epic Energy has been in the wars with the West Australian Office of Gas Access Regulation after the regulator set gas transport tariffs at 25 per cent below what Epic had sought. An Epic Energy spokesperson said the company was looking for "light-handed" approach to energy market regulation.
