"The Government has consistently said that projects would only proceed on the Burrup once all the necessary environmental approvals had been obtained," said State Development Minister, Clive Brown.
The Minister said the proposed Methanex development would create approximately 1,000 construction phase jobs and more than 150 direct highly-paid and highly-skilled full time jobs.
Earlier this year, Indian-based Oswal Group got environmental approval for its plans to build a $700 million ammonia plant on the Burrup, which would be the world's biggest.
