The gas gathering system will be made up of 22km of 150mm (6 inch) buried steel pipe and a gas filtering and pressure reduction station, which can be expanded if further gas finds are made.

The gas gathering system will deliver gas from the 11.3PJ Coonarah Gas Field to fuel a new 10MW power station at West Narrabri.

ESG has signed a letter of intent with GE Energy Rentals for the supply, installation and operation of the power station. Electrical energy generated will be delivered by overhead transmission line to the Narrabri substation for sale to Country Energy under a 10 year power purchase agreement.

Eastern Star Gas is the 100% beneficial owner of the Narrabri Power Project.
