Since last report, Nexus has set the 9¾ inch production casing and drilled the well to a total vertical depth of 3918m.
Before suspending the Browse Basin well as a future producer, Nexus will run wireline logs and install a 7 inch liner.
Last week, the company confirmed that Crux-4 had extended the field into the South East Horst Block, intersecting the top gas sand at the highest point seen in the field to date.
“The further addition to the very significant gas column encountered in the well is pleasing,” Nexus managing director Ian Tchacos said.
“The Crux-4 well has confirmed a significant liquids volume in a previously un-drilled portion of the field.
“Furthermore, the large gross gas column intersected in this well is expected to enhance near field exploration targets in the eastern part of AC/P23 such as the Auriga prospect.”
Crux-4 well was the second of three wells to be drilled in the greater Crux area.
The third well, Libra-1, will be drilled in the adjoining AC-P41 exploration permit in April.
