The 80,000 pound Vibroseis Peak Force Renegade has had its wheel base modified to comply with non-pilot road transport regulations and can be fitted with both forestry lug or balloon tyres.

The new trucks can operate across any of Australia's major basins from the Perth to Surat or the Cooper and the largest benefit for broadband point acquisition.

Velseis says the 80,000 pound Peak Force Renegade is the largest vibrator in Australia, the second-largest in operation being significantly smaller at 62,000lbs.

Manager Karel Driml said the main advantage was a smaller number of vibrators on site.

"Mobilisation costs should be less if you're moving less equipment," he said.

"If you're doing 3D it might go from seven down to four, you can get away with fewer vibes in the fleet."

This also saves on manpower as fewer are needed to operate the smaller fleet.

The Renegade 380 has larger accumulators and ab better reaction mass to baseplate ratio, providing better low frequency sweep characteristics.
