Origin recovers oil from Rockhopper sidetrack

ORIGIN Energy has recovered oil samples from its Rockhopper-1ST1 sidetrack well, in Victoria's Bass Basin, which encountered the target reservoirs 40-60m deeper than in Rockhopper-1.

The oil samples were recovered from two sandstones while a third contained formation water. Several other sands did not yield reliable formation pressure data or samples and may be hydrocarbon-bearing...
