Trans-Orient seeks to expand NZ permit

CANADA'S Trans-Orient Petroleum has applied for a southern extension to one of its three exploration licences on New Zealand's East Coast, so it can fully appraise the second oil shale prospect it has identified.

"We have identified an attractive Whangai and Waipawa shale prospect in PEP 38349 that we interpret as extending into the area applied for," chief executive Garth Johnson told PetroleumNews.net. ...
