With a well due to spud next quarter, FAR said the Wabamun gas prospect was 4.5km from infrastructure and nearby a well that tested 10 million cubic feet per day.

The prospect was identified from processing of a 3D seismic survey acquired over the area last year.

As a result, FAR says the partnership will seek additional farm-in partners at the NAPE conference in Houston next month.

FAR holds a 29.12% stake in the project. Suncor, a Canadian major, holds the remaining 70.88%.

FAR is also looking for farminees for its NE Waller project area on the Texas Gulf Coast, where it says multiple leads and prospects have been identified from recently shot 3D seismic data.
