Burundi-1 is dry: Magellan

Co-venturer Magellan said Santos drilled the well to a total depth of 1443m without encountering commercial hydrocarbons in the objective Eromanga Basin sections.

Burundi-1 was the first in a two-well drilling program in the Nockatunga area.

The Maxwell-5 appraisal well on the Maxwell oil field in PL 50 is expected to spud later this week.

Santos is operator and holds a 61.006% in Burundi-1, while Magellan has 38.994%.
