Pure grabs free rig to fast-track Duckworth CSM well

A corehole on the Duckworth prospect was yesterday being drilled ahead at a depth of 465m, Pure said.

The program’s first well, Dingonose-1, has been cored to a total depth of 850m and logged, while permeability testing is underway.

Dingonose-1 encountered 15-20m of net coal in the Permian Rangal-Bandanna coal measures, with initial indications of good gas content. Fifteen samples have been taken for analysis.

To take advantage of the rig’s availability, Pure said it decided to start drilling the Duckworth prospect ahead of schedule.

The Duckworth prospect is about 30km northwest of Dingonose.

The two wells are the first step in a 12-well exploration program to assess eight CSM prospects.

This drilling activity will take place over the next five months, with eight wells to be drilled by Pure, and the remaining four wells by its farm-in partner, Arrow Energy, in the ATP831P and ATP759P permits.
