In Texas, the company said the eighth consecutive well drilled to date on the Ford East project, in which it holds an 82% interest, would today be completed for production.
The Red Bluff-16-5 well was drilled to a total depth of 3000 feet (914m) and encountered “good oil shows” in the Delaware/Ramsey Sand formation.
Today, the drill rig is expected to move on location to the next well, Red Bluff-16-6, in the program.
In Louisiana, Amadeus says the SL328-9 gas exploration well at the Lake Long field – where it is partners with Australian juniors First Australian Resources (FAR) and Sun Resources – was yesterday drilling ahead at a depth of 2100ft.
The wildcat, which spudded on Saturday, is expected to take 35-50 days to reach a total planned depth of 13,500ft.
It is targeting 21.7 billion cubic feet of gas and 760,000 barrels of oil if all three objectives – Lower, Middle and Upper Hollywood sands – are successful.
Amadeus holds a 21.9% stake in the Lake Long well, while FAR has 10.1875% and Sun Resources owns 10%.
FAR and operator Kriti Exploration have had a 100% success rate at Lake Long.
Elsewhere in the state, Amadeus is participating with a 25% interest in the Brushy Creek project, where the Bel Mineral-1 gas exploration well is about to spud.
